QUICK FACTS - PAN AFRICANISM

 

Between 1900 and 1974 Pan-Africanists organized six international conferences. African Americans from the United States had a crucial role in these forums, and English-speaking black people initially appeared in the forefront. African-American W. E. B. Dubois and Jamaican-born Marcus Garvey were Pan Africanism's two most important figures in the early twentieth century.
