END OF EMPIRE

 I walk around the Wall Street area of New York City. I see empty retail spaces and office buildings. This is the end of one kind of society and the beginning of another kind of society. I see impoverished people walking around with people who have plenty. Homeless people eye those who have comfortable lives with resentment. Those who have comfortable lives pretend like they don't see the homeless people on every block. The ruling and political class have a choice, improve life for those of us on the bottom of the old social order or fail to develop a new social order. People without social order usually become destructive.
